Personal Information Protection Principles

When the evolution of communication technology is drastically changing our fields of business and there are increasingly more areas of business processing such personal information, we, Dentsu Music and Entertainment, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as ”we” or “us”) believes that balancing the utilization and protection of personal information is one of the most important issues for us..

These Principles set out principal matters which we comply with when processing personal information. We declare our commitment to managing and protecting personal information in compliance with Japan’s “Act on the Protection of Personal Information” (“Japan’s Personal Information Protection Act”) as well as applicable personal information protection laws of the other countries as applicable, pursuant to the Dentsu Group Basic Policy for Information Security, and these Principles.

  1. 1.Handling of Personal Information

    1. (1) Purpose of Use
      We will acquire personal information in a fair and appropriate manner and use it within the limits shown in "Purpose of Use" column in [Table 1] Personal information of a type other than those listed in “Kinds of Personal Information” column in [Table 1] shall be used either after (i) individually notifying or publicly announcing specific purpose of use or (ii) obtaining the consent of the Person.
    2. (2) Management of Subcontractors
      As shown in " Subcontracted or Not" and "Details of the Subcontracted Operations," columns in [Table 1] and [Table 2] we will outsource some of the operations related to personal information to outside business operators. We consider the management of subcontractors to be the most important issue, and in commissioning business, select business operators whose level of protection of personal information is deemed to be adequate, and clarify the required duties in the contract, etc. In addition, we require subcontractors to handle personal information appropriately and continuously conduct supervision and audits necessary for the safe management of such information.
    3. (3) Provision to a Third Party
      In principle, we will not disclose or provide personal information to any third party. Disclosure and provision of information shall be conducted in an appropriate manner in accordance with laws and regulations.
    4. (4) Joint Use
      We may share personal information when holding seminars jointly with affiliated companies and business partners or in other appropriate situations. In such cases, purpose of use, disclosed data items, the scope of users, and the person responsible for control shall be clarified and individually notified or publicly announced in advance.
      The Company will also ensure safety management among shared users.
    5. (5) Disclosure/Inquiry
      Personal information acquired by us ourself as shown in [Table 1], if you have any disclosure request or inquiry regarding the origin or manner of such acquisition, please contact the contact person in charge to whom you entrusted your information or our General Affairs Department. You will be provided of application procedures and fee information. In responding to your request, we will need to confirm in advance that you are the true principal or his/her true agent.
      Currently there is no authorized personal information protection organization to which we belong.

  2. 2.Compliance

    We will strictly comply with all applicable laws, regulations, agreements, and other regulations relating to the protection of personal information.

  3. 3.Safety Management Measures

    We will develop and improve systems for protecting personal information, educate and enlighten employees, manage the entrance control of the office building, and implement information security measures in order to ensure the safety of personal information and prevent leakage of such information. Personal information that we decide not to retain shall be appropriately disposed of or deleted.

  4. 4.Continuous Improvement

    We will continuously review and improve our personal information protection management system, including this policy, in order to maintain the appropriate handling and protection of personal information in light of the requests of business partners and changes in social environment.
